Mission

The basic aims of this center are to...

(a) utilize the present glycomic-analytical expertise at Indiana University in advancing certain hypothesis-driven investigations in breast cancer research and neuroscience research conducted at the Indiana University School of Medicine;

(b) mobilize the nationally recognized strength in bioanalytical chemistry at IU into advancing measurement methodologies in functional glycomics, glycoproteomics, and proteomics;

(c) develop a training and educational mission in these areas;

(d) provide dissemination of glycomic and proteomic expertise and analytical services throughout the geographical region; and

(e) develop an effective liaison with other leading research centers under the recently formed Human Disease Glycomics/Proteome Initiative (HGPI) and Human Proteome Organization (HUPO).
